Info:
Deviated
Presence is versatile melodic death metal originating from the Ruhr-area. The music is self-willed, doesn't really fit in any category and is characterized by dynamics and a rich variety. If you were to describe it more closely the music is formerly melodic death metal,
meanwhile black-death-thrash-power-prog-metal with
jazz and classic influences... Our main idea is to provide people with exactly the music that emerges from us without commercial interest or other ulterior motives. Therefore many songs may not convey themselves at
first.
Current lineup: solo project
Felix Gebhart: guitar, vocals
Originally brought into being as a solo-project of Felix Gebhart, Deviated Presence became a "real band" after a long search in early 2002. The following 4 years were challenged in a foursome at first with Hubert Popiolek on the guitar and Frank Pirnay on the bass, then, after the leaving of drummer Hartmut Stoof in 2004, in a threesome with a drum computer. During this time the release of the cd-albums "Fall's Passage" (2004) and "Eerie Sphere" (2005) and several concerts took place. In October 2006 Hubert Popiolek on guitar and Frank Pirnay on bass left the band because of work-related lack of time. After a further phase as a solo project Deviated Presence began to form up again in 2007: Anne Schaefer (16 at that time) with only three years of playing experience and lots of talent succeeded Hubert on the guitar, and 2008 the line-up finally became fit for the stage with drummer Daniel Dickmann, thus the drum-computer became redundand. Both were hardly involved artistically when the third album was released in 2009. With 80 minutes "Fractured Mind" is the longest album in the band's history, bursting with ideas and surprises while at the same time electrifying and catchy. Listen samples at Music. After Anne left in 2010, the fourth album "without face" will be recorded by Daniel and Felix in early 2011. Since December 2010 the sound gets some depth again with Kathy Schulze on the bass.
After the lineup broke up again in 2011, the fourth album "Without Face" was released in 2012 as a solo project again and exclusively online
